A little buttery burst

Sunbeam Rolls

Another! Sweet! Recipe! From a ward cookbook (my sis's actually). These rolls are the bomb.com and really as you can tell i cant say enough good things about these buttery, flaky, delicious rolls. Easy fast and a crowd pleaser!

1 c. milk
1/c c. butter or margarine
1/2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. water
3 eggs... farm fresh ofcourse ;)
4 1/2-5 c. flour (dont add more)
1 1/2-2 tbls. yeast...i use the full 2

Warm milk. Add sugar, salt and butter. Mix in Mixmaster with eggs and water (you can also do all of this without a mixer but it is a bit sticky..and o how i love my kitchen aid). Add 2 cups of flour and the yeast. Mix. Add remaining 2 1/2-3 c. flour. Mix until smooth. Dough will be sticky. Let rise until double in size (an hour). Divide dough in half and roll each half on floured surface into a 12 to 14 inch circle. Spread with butter. Cut each circle into 16 pieces using a pizza cutter. Roll each piece up starting at the wide end and roll to point. Place on lightly greased pan and let rise again until doubled again (another hour) bake @ '375 10-15 minutes.
If you keep the dough sticky and let rise an hour each time these rolls turn out AWESOME!

If you want to freeze them you can on the pans instead of a second rising. Freeze them then when you take them out let them thaw and rise for 3 hours before cooking them.

  1. So I am a pretty decent cook, but for some reason I've always shied away from bread - it's scary to me. But this looks so easy and delicious that I might just have to take the plunge!
